Young Epilepsy

St Piers College in Lingfield, Surrey is run by the charity Young Epilepsy. A significant donation to the building of a Wetlands Walk at the college was made from funds raised in conjunction with the Titsey Rotary Club at the 2014 festival.

St Piers College is a warm, friendly and unique residential and day college for students aged 19-25 with epilepsy, autism and other neurological conditions or special needs.

Many of the young adults based there have learning and behavioural difficulties as well as specific medical or physical requirements. At St Piers College they are able to thrive, thanks to a calm, structured, safe environment and the support of a team of highly experienced professionals.
The college offers a huge array of activities, both learning and recreational to benefit their students including a farm, which is a fully functioning smallholding with sheep, calves, pigs, goats and donkeys, as well as a ménage of smaller animals. The farm is somewhere students can focus on caring for others, learn valuable life skills, build confidence and face new experiences.

The college has been looking to develop a “Wetlands Walk” on the farm to provide both exercise and a learning experience for their students, which will complement the experiences, and benefits they gain from the farm.
