These funds were donated to local charitable organisations which had been established to help and encourage young people, with or without disabilities, in sport and related leisure activities.
One of these recipients was Moor House School in Hurst Green, Oxted. Six of the pupils from the school and their carers were taken to see the Crystal Palace v Sunderland Premiership football match. The Boys were kitted-out with Crystal Palace Hats, Scarves and Books so they could support the Team
As Nick Hart, Assistant Head Teacher at Moor House, commented ,”young people with speech, language and communication difficulties, often have fewer opportunities to take part in such activities with friends, than their mainstream peers, so it was wonderful for them to be able share this experience together, at a very special venue. They are all fierce football fans, so it was ideal for them.
